Here are a few home remedies for gas problems in babies:

 #1   Feed warm water

Feeding only milk to babies results in infants becoming vulnerable to stomach pain due to gas. Feed them warm water to help with the stomach pain.

Warm the water to a level that they can drink it (don’t overheat it), and feed it to your baby several times a day. This will help in bringing gas out of his or her stomach.

 #2   Burping baby after breastfeeding

This is especially applicable for babies that are breastfed. Ensure that you burp them after each feed.

Before laying them down on the bed or cot, hold your baby in an upright position and pat his or her back. Carry him or her for some time.

Doing this will avoid the majority of gas related problems in your baby.

 #3   Exercise your baby’s legs

Be sure to move your baby’s legs in a circular cycling motion between his or her feeds.

Doing so helps in putting pressure on their stomach and helps your baby in expelling the gas. There should be a gap of at least 1 hour between the last feed and the exercise.

Massage your baby’s tummy occasionally by pressing it in a light fashion. This also helps in relieving the gas.

 #4   Anise for baby gas

Aniseed prevents flatulence and relieves bloating. Mix 1 teaspoon of aniseed in a liter of warm water.

Cool the mixture and feed it to your baby up to 3 times a day. After a few days of feeding this to your baby, you will see the difference.

 #5   Mustard oil for babies

This is a great home remedy for bringing relief to your baby. Take some mustard oil and warm it to a bearable temperature.

Check with your finger that it is not too hot for your baby’s skin. Massage the warm mustard oil all over your baby’s body.

This home remedy calms the digestive system, strengthens the bones, brightens your baby’s skin and ensures your baby has a sound and undisturbed sleep.

 #6   Asafetida for babies

Take one pinch of Asafoetida in powdered form and dissolve it in 2 tablespoonfuls of warm water to make a paste.

Apply the paste around your baby’s navel in an anti-clockwise direction. Asafoetida paste is a great reliever of gas, and this particular home remedy is one of the best remedies for gas relief in your baby.
